A New 15,000-Ton Glycin Production Facility To Be Built in China's Hebei Province

An eFeedLink Exclusive Report

China's Qinghua Ziguang Company announced recently that it would invest RMB 20 million in constructing a 15,000-ton glycin production facility in Tunzhou area, Hebei province. This is a joint-venture project between Qinghua Ziguang Co and Tunzhou Xinxing Chemical Co.

The new glycin production project is part of Beijing Municipal Master Plan to promote scientific research and development in the Chinese capital.

Qinghua Ziguang Company said that upon completion, its sales revenue and profit margin could reach RMB 1 billion and RMB 200 million respectively in 5 years.

Glycin, also known as aminoacetic acid, is an important chemical intermediate widely used in the production of agrochemicals, pharmaceutical products, food products, fertilizers and animal feed.

The existing traditional method of producing glycin in China involves high raw material cost and the production yield is low. Besides, the existing production technology generates chemical residue, which is detrimental to the environment.

The new production facility will adopt advanced production technology that is environmentally friendly with potential cost saving and would not compromise on product quality. This is reportedly a cutting-edge technology used in the production of glycin.
