Russian pork production grow 19.6% in August

The Russian federal statistics service reported Friday (Oct 1) that the country has produced 59,700 tonnes of pork in August, surpassing August 2009 by 19.6%.

Compared with July this year, Russia's pork output in August increased by 0.3%, the service said.

Without giving output figures for January to August, the statistics service said pork output in January to August increased by 27.5% as compared with the first eight months of 2009.
