Value of Argentine poultry exports up 51 percent
Argentine poultry exports during the first eight months of the year totaled, US$75.5 million, up 51 percent over the same period a year earlier, the animal and food-inspection agency, Senasa, said Wednesday (October 3).
Tonnage was up 29 percent on-year to 92,024 tonnes.
Fresh poultry exports were up 34 percent at 57,738 tonnes, with Chile, South Africa, Germany and Saudi Arabia the primary markets.
Exports of claws, wings and other chopped pieces reached 31,669 tonnes, up 24 percent from the same period in 2006 with China and Hong Kong the main destinations.
Processed poultry exports totaled 2,618 tonnes, up 21 percent on-year, mainly to Germany and the Netherlands.
