Denmark's pig farms suffers worst situation in 30 years

Low pork prices and high feed prices will result in losses for Danish pig farmers in the coming months, Danish pig association Dansk Svineproduktion said.

According to the association, the situation is the worst in 30 years -- feed prices have almost doubled in the last few months while the prices farmers received for pork has not seen any increases.

However, piglet prices are expected to fall next week.

The Dansk Svineproduktion believes many pig farmers will have fallen into debt before the market returns but he believes pig producers should be able to get sufficient credit.
