Malaysian State To Have Modern Chicken Industry Park

The Malaysian Federal government has approved funds to build a state-of-the-art chicken industry park in Kuala Krai as a permanent food production site for the country.

Kelantan Veterinary Services Department Director, Dr Idris Kadir, said the centre would be built on a 136.36-ha site given by the state government to increase food production.

He was confident the food industry would be intensified with the completion of the centre next year.

Idris said their income is set to increase with the state-of-the-art equipment and modern breeding grounds.

The initiative by the Federal government is a long-term plan aimed at raising the economic position of farmers and livestock breeders in Kelantan, he added.

With the existence of the centre, Kelantan would become Malaysia's largest producer of chicken and beef which would also be exported, according to Idris.
