Successful Operation of Southwestern China's Largest Hog Slaughterhouse Improves Farming Operation There

China's Feng Huang Food Product Limited Company had completed its construction of southwestern China's largest hog slaughterhouse in Yuxi city, Yunan province. With an investment of RMB 210 million, the newly built slaughterhouse can handle one million pigs a year and 3,000 pigs a day.
The company has successfully operated the slaughterhouse and production line, with its hog products entering the markets three months ago. Hog farmers in southwestern China have benefited from the operation of this slaughterhouse.
In southwestern Chinese provinces, prices of piglets were up from RMB 12.5/kg in June to the current level of RMB 15.5/kg, while procurement prices of matured pigs also rose significantly from RMB 7.2/kg in June to RMB 9.2/kg.
