US Class III milk prices down 14 percent on-year
 

 

USDA announced on Friday (Sep 29) that the September Class III milk price is US$12.29 per hundredweight, up US$1.23 cents (10 percent) from August, but US$2.01 (14 percent) below last year's price.

 

The Class IV price at US$11.10, was up 46 cents from August, but US$2.65 below a year ago.

 

Meanwhile, Wisconsin farmers received an average price of US$12.10 per hundred weight for their August milk. The estimated September 2006 price is expected to increase US$0.80 to US$12.90 per cwt. The current September price is US$2.80 below the September 2005 milk price. The September U.S. milk price is expected to increase US$0.60 to US$12.60 per cwt, US$0.30 below Wisconsin's level.
