Alltech's "Shrimp Health Management Training Workshop" kick-off

The 10th Shrimp Health Management Training Workshop is underway in Bangkok, Thailand, from October 3-8, 2005.

Alltech Aqua, in conjunction with the Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia-Pacific (NACA), is providing the popular five and a half day workshop for shrimp industry professionals with attendees from countries including India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Brunei, Madagascar, Tanzania, Indonesia and Thailand.

Mr. Daniel Fegan, President, World Aquaculture Society, and Regional Technical Manager, Aquaculture for Asia Pacific, Alltech Inc., outlined the programme. "The workshop covers a wide scope of management practices for shrimp production ranging from life cycle, breeding programmes, pond management to disease control, as well as a two-day field trip. It has been 3 years since the last workshop and in this time, a lot has changed in the shrimp industry with the broad introduction of P. Vannamei".

Alltech Inc., a provider of natural feed ingredients for the Aquaculture industry, and NACA, reported record numbers and are looking at ways to develop this workshop across the region further in 2006.
