Pre-holiday buying underpins China sulphate additives prices

Cupric sulphate

As inventory pressure diminished, cupric sulphate producers lifted prices while demand remained buoyant as buyers accumulated stocks before the long holidays.

Copper sulphate prices are expected to stay around current levels after the long holidays as buyers possess ample stocks.

Zinc sulphate

As demand firmed up during the period in review, zinc sulphate producers increased prices amid dwindling stocks, which was supported by pre-holidays stockpiling.

With demand waning after the long holidays, the upward potential of zinc sulphate market will be limited.

Manganese sulphate

Manganese sulphate output in Hunan was limited due to environmental issues. Nonetheless, as demand remained slow prices softened slightly over past weeks.

As of September 30, ex-factory price quotes for manganese sulphate were lower in the range of RMB3,150-3,450/tonne.
Manganese sulphate market is unlikely to firm up in the coming period.

Ferrous sulphate

Ferrous sulphate prices stayed unchanged while supplies remained abundant.
Lacklustre feed demand will hamper the sales of ferrous sulphate during October.

RMB1=US$0.1633 (Oct 2)
