Argentina's poultry exports surge by 32 percent

 

 
Argentina's poultry exports from January through August continued to post sharp gains, rising 32 percent in volume and 58 percent in value on-year.

 

Exports during the period totalled 122,630 tonnes, valued at US$182 million, the agricultural sanitation and quality service Senasa said Tuesday (September 30).

 

Fresh poultry exports during the period totalled 85,885 tonnes valued at US$135 million. Chile was the top market for fresh poultry exports, followed by Venezuela and South Africa.

 

Processed poultry exports during the period totalled 2,395 tonnes, an 11-percent on-year decrease in volume, Senasa said. Germany and Holland were the leading buyers of Argentina's processed poultry shipments.

 

China, Hong Kong and Vietnam led imports of Argentine poultry feet, wings, and other parts.
