Paraguay's soy production seen up 10 percent

 

 

Soy production in Paraguay is expected to set a new record during the 2007/2008 season at 6.800,000 metric tons of soy, an increase of 10 percent if compared with the 6.200,000 tonnes produced in the past season.

 

To reach this goal, the sector has expanded plantation area by 5 percent, from 2.400,000 hectares to 2.800,000 hectare. From January to July 2007, exports of soy reached US$787 million, according to BCP or Banco Central del Paraguay.
