Increase in China's methionine imports in August
China's methionine imports in August totalled 6,689 tonnes, up 1,465 tonnes from July.
For the period from January to August 2006, China's methionine imports totalled 52,409 tonnes worth about US$111.84 million.
Methionine imports from Japan totalled 2,897 tonnes in August, up by 1,873 tonnes compared with July.
Combined import volume from Germany and Belgium totalled 2,700 tonnes, up slightly from the previous month.
Imports from France totalled 960 tonnes, down 552 tonnes from July.
