The prospects for the UK dairy industry are undoubtedly good on fast-growing global demand and high standard of domestic products, said Robert Wiseman, the new chairman of Dairy UK.
Wiseman, who is the executive chairman of Robert Wiseman Dairies, succeeds Mark Allen, chief executive of Dairy Crest, who has been in the Dairy UK post two years.
"This is a great place to produce milk, we have the best dairy farmers around, growth in global demand is set to continue and we have a competitive, innovative and vibrant processing sector.
"Dairy UK is an important and influential organisation. It operates at the core of our industry and represents the entire supply chain. It therefore has a key role to play in determining the future of the dairy sector. I am looking forward to playing my part as chairman."
Neil Kennedy of Milk Link and Mark Allen were elected vice chairmen, and Kate Allum of First Milk, honorary treasurer.
