Vietnam's TIGIFACO gets go signal to build US$11 million seafood plant

Tien Giang Food and Agriculture Co. (TIGIFACO) has been granted license by its local authorities to build a VND214 billion (US$11 million) seafood processing and food preserving plant in Cai Be's Hoa Hung.

The TIGIFACO plant has a capacity of producing 12,000 tonnes of seafood products and preserving 18,000 tonnes of food yearly.

Construction of the new plant is scheduled to be completed in July 2011.

TIGIFACO is an affiliate of the Vietnam Southern Food Corporation (Vinafood 2), one of the country's two biggest rice exporters.
