US soy's export sales to China hit six-week high

 
 

US soy export sales surged last week to the highest point in six weeks as China bought its largest volume since early August, according to USDA's data released Thursday (Sep 30).

 

Net sales of US corn rose to a one-month high amid strong sales to regular customers Japan and South Korea, while net sales of all US wheat were the largest in three weeks, USDA data showed.

 

US soy export sales in the week ended September 23 totalled 1,737,600 tonnes, all for shipment in the 2010/11 marketing year which began September 1.

 

Soy sales to China of 1,295,200 tonnes accounted for about 75% of the week's total sales.

 

Net corn export sales last week totalled 925,900 tonnes, with 319,900 tonnes to Japan, which is the top US corn buyer, and 168,900 tonnes to South Korea, the third largest US corn customer.

 

Net sales of all US wheat rose 37% from the previous week to 628,300 tonnes, mostly hard wheat.

 

USDA reported 300,600 tonnes in hard red winter wheat sales and 226,700 tonnes in hard red spring wheat sales.
