South Dakota wheat output down 25 percent on-year
Wheat production in South Dakota this year fell 25 percent from last year's record production to 129.2 million tonnes, according to the USDA.
The agency said fewer planted winter and spring wheat acres combined with lower yields resulted in the reduced production.
Winter wheat production fell 38 percent on-year to 64.3 million bushels. Spring wheat production declined five percent to 64.7 million bushels.
