Russia temporarily bans poultry imports from Chile
Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight has temporarily banned imports of poultry from three regions in Chile after detection of bird flu there, the regulator told ITAR-TASS Tuesday (September 29).
The ban was imposed Sept. 25.
The regulator also banned imports of live birds, eggs, bird food, and equipment for keeping and slaughtering birds from the Valparaiso, Coquimbo, and O' Higgins regions, following detection of H5N1 and H5N7 bird flu viruses at two turkey farms in Valparaiso and confirmation of AH1N1 flu virus.
