China fishmeal imports up 0.7 percent in August
China imported 255,038 tonnes of fishmeal in August 2005, up 0.7 percent from the previous month, and a 148 percent rise compared with the same period last year.
The August imports came mostly from:
Peru: 193,530 tonnes;
Chile: 35,490 tonnes;
US: 9,311 tonnes.
From January to August 2005, China's fishmeal imports totalled 1,229,339 tonnes.
