No New Bird Flu Cases Found In Kelantan, Malaysia
No fresh cases of bird flu were detected in Kelantan since last week, Malaysia's State Health Director Datuk Dr Ahmad Razin Ahmad Mahir said Thursday.
"No new cases, only the public fear that the infected chickens are the free-range fowls," he stated. Nonetheless, the Veterinary Services Department was monitoring the situation closely, he said.
Dr Ahmad Razin advised the people to abide by the government's advice not to take their chickens, ducks and birds to other places.
"The bird flu spread to several districts in Kelantan because the people did not obey the directive," he said.
The first bird flu case was detected in Tumpat on August 17.
