Russia lifts pork bans from two Smithfield Foods plants
Russia has removed bans on pork imports from two Smithfield Foods Inc. processing plants, the country's food-safety watchdog said.
Restrictions on the two facilities, US establishment numbers 320M and 717, were removed as of September 24, the service, called Rosselkhoznadzor, said Monday (Sep 27).
Those plants are run by Farmland Foods - a unit of Smithfield-based Smithfield Foods - in Milan, Missouri, and Denison, Iowa, according to the USDA.
