Kazakhstan to ship 7-8 million tonnes grain
Kazakhstan intends to export 7-8 million tonnes of grain this year, the Agriculture Ministry said Monday (Sep 27).
The ministry added that the total grain harvest will be 13.5 million tonnes, the bottom of the estimated range, due to the summer drought.
Kazakhstan plans to increase exports to Iran once the construction of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway has been completed as well as UAE and Jordan.
"The Arab countries are interested in our grain, so we should consider building grain terminals in the UAE and Jordan," said Prime Minister Karim Masimov Monday (Sep 27).
