Corn prices in China generally move within narrow range and edge higher in some regions (Sep 29, 2005)

An eFeedLink exclusive report

Corn prices in China generally moved within a narrow range early this week.

Corn prices generally remained firm in the north-eastern production regions as new crop corn was not yet released into local markets.

As limited quantities of new crop corn were released into local markets in the Yellow / Huai River production regions, market supplies there remained tight. Corn prices consequently continued to edge higher in some areas there.

With limited quantities of corn delivered from the north-eastern production regions to the southern consumption regions, corn prices in the southern consumption regions consequently edged higher.

Meanwhile, with an increase in arrival volumes of corn from northern to southern Chinese ports, corn prices at southern ports continued moving lower.
