US sells 110,000 tonnes soy to China for 2012-13 delivery

The sale of 110,000 tonnes of US soy to China for delivery this marketing year has been reported by private exporters.

According to the USDA on Friday (Sep 21), the 2012-13 marketing year for soy opened on September 1. It was the second large soy sale of the week. On Wednesday (Sep 26), exporters reported the sale of 140,000 tonnes to unknown destinations, also for delivery this marketing year.

By law, exporters must report promptly the sale of 100,000 tonnes or more of a commodity to the same destination in one day. Sales of smaller amounts are reported on a weekly basis.
