Argentina's August grain stocks up 20 percent on-year

 

 

Stocks of major grains and oilseeds in Argentina totalled 24.83 million tonnes as of August 31, according to the latest provisional data from the National Office for the Control of Agricultural Trade, known as Oncca.

 

Stocks of corn, soy, sunseed, wheat and 59 "other crops" are up 20 percent from 20.64 million tonnes at the same time last year.

 

The "other crops" category includes goods like peanuts and rice.

 

Soy stocks totalled 15.30 million tonnes, corn stocks totalled 4.52 million tonnes and wheat stocks totalled 2.82 million tonnes.

 

Argentina's grain storage capacity in May totalled 49.76 million tonnes while utilized capacity was at 50 percent. The country has 3,033 storage plants, from small silos to large industrial storage facilities.
