Singapore Partially Lifts Malaysian Poultry Ban
Singapore has agreed to partially lift the ban on Malaysian poultry imports on Thursday. Farms in Johor and Malacca will be allowed to resume chicken, duck and egg exports into Singapore under tight new checks to keep out bird flu.
The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority, in a press conference on Tuesday, said 95 farms in the two southern Malaysia states have been given the all-clear.
Thirty-five other farms did not receive approval.
Singapore banned imports of poultry and eggs from Malaysia in August after bird flu broke out in a farm in Kelantan.
