BRF appoints global CEO
 
 

 

Brazilian food company, BRF, has appointed Pedro Faria as the company's global CEO.

 

Faria will occupy the position on January 2, 2015. Claudio Eugenio Stiller Galeazzi, the current officeholder, will serve his term until December 31, 2014.

 

Faria was a member of BRF's board of directors for three years before becoming the company's current CEO of international operations in November 2013. He was responsible for the decision of prioritising markets and products with higher profitability, reducing volatility and strengthening BRF´s brands abroad. He remains in the position until the end of 2014.

 

Faria previously worked with Tarpon and was responsible for starting the company's private equity area. He served as Tarpon's CEO from December 2012 to August 2013, having occupied other important positions including member of the board of directors, managing partner and member of investment committee, and director of investor relations.

 

Faria graduated in business management from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in São Paulo, Brazil, and earned his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago, US. He is also a member of the global advisory board of the Chicago Booth School of Business.
