Australia's beef export to China remains stable

Over the past 12 months, the demand for Australian beef in China has been insatiable, but a new report from Rabobank shows exports to the nation have flat lined.

It seems Australian exporters have not yet overcome issues like packaging protocols, and Australia still has not negotiated a free trade agreement.

Nevertheless, senior analyst Sarah Sivyer is confident the market will forge ahead with rising demand from the growing population.

According to Sivyer, in July last year, Australia exported an average of about 600 tonnes a month into China and in September this year, it exported 16,000 tonnes, averaging about 10,000 tonnes a month now and it's still increasing.

"We believe it will remain this sort of level throughout towards the end of this year and further," she added.
