Kazakhstan harvests 15.8 million tonnes grain to date
Kazakhstan harvested 15.8 million tonnes of grain to date, on 75 percent of the total area to be harvested, the Agriculture Ministry said Thursday (September 24).
The harvest to date exceeds the total amount of grain harvested last year, with the eventual total harvest this year expected to be 15 percent to 20 percent more than last year.
Grain for this year's harvest was planted on 21.9 million hectares, which is 1.9 million hectares more than last year, with wheat planted on 14.7 million hectares.
