US turkey cooperation to close processing plant

The Nebraska Turkey Growers Cooperation will soon close down its turkey processing facility, no thanks to high production costs.

The plant, which processes more than 20,000 turkeys per day, will continue operations until December.

Chairman Bill Bevans said they plan to restart the facility in time to come, but it will depend on the market environment.

Restarting the plant will depend on turkey prices, as feed prices are unlikely to decrease in the near future, according to Bevans.
