Yurun begins construction of meat plant in China's Hubei
Construction of Yurun's integrated meat plant located in Zhongxiang district, Hubei province, started on Sunday (Sep 23).
Costing RMB280 million in initial investment, the plant will have a slaughtering capacity of 2 million heads of hogs per year, thus making it the largest integrated meat plant in the central Chinese province of Hubei. The plant is expected to produce some RMB2 billion worth of meat products annually.
Market traders said that Yurun's new plant will bring tangible benefits to the hog farming community in Zhongxiang. Demand for hog will improve and aggregate farm income is seen to rise by more than RMB20 million.
