DSM announces management changes
Royal DSM N.V., the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company with headquarters in the Netherlands, has recently made changes to its management structure.
Anton Robek, previously the President and CEO of DSM Melamine, will be appointed as Senior Vice President of DSM's Emerging Business Area (EBA) DSM Bio-based Products & Services with effect from January 1, 2011. In this role, he will build on the success of this EBA, formerly named DSM White Biotechnology, and drive its further commercialisation as outlined in the strategy: "DSM in motion: driving focused growth". Robek will report to Rob van Leen, DSM's Chief Innovation Officer.
Volkert Claassen, previously Vice President of DSM White Biotechnology, has been appointed Vice President of Strategy & Growth Options of the DSM Innovation Centre, and Vice President of Strategy & Partnerships of DSM Bio-based Products & Services. Claassen has very successfully built the EBA DSM White Biotechnology into a launching platform for products and services in the areas of biofuels and biochemicals. His track record and extensive network in the biotechnology industry gives DSM an excellent position to take this enlarged EBA to the next level.
