South Korea Kocopia Buys Up To 55,000 MT Corn From Cargill


The Korea Corn Processing Industry Association, or Kocopia, bought up to 55,000 metric tons of optional-origin non-genetically modified corn from trading house Cargill in a tender concluded Thursday, said a Kocopia official.
 
Kocopia will pay $151.95 a ton if the corn comes from the U.S. or South America. In case of European or Chinese corn, Kocopia will pay $148.95 and $141.95/ton, respectively.
 
Kocopia will buy 55,000 tons of U.S., South American or European corn, or 52,500 tons of Chinese corn, the official said.
 
The cargo is set to arrive at the port of Incheon Feb. 5, 2005.
