China methionine market strengthens further; prices doubled in two months
Prices of methionine rose sharply during the week ending September 23.
Demand for methionine surged as feed millers lifted production while demand surged as poultry producers hastened releases before October's long holidays.
The rally, which began since late July, has doubled the prices of methionine in China.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine rose sharply to the range of RMB70-72/kg, higher about 20%.
Insufficient supply will hold the prices of methionine firm in the coming week.
