Russia August meat imports down on-year
Russia imported US$214.9 million worth of beef in August, 29.9-percent less than in August 2008 and 3.2-percent less than in July this year, the Federal Customs Service said Tuesday (Sept 22).
The customs service didn't give tonnages, only the cost of the imported products.
Pork imports in August were worth US$150.5 million, down 23.9 percent on the year and down 4.4 percent on the month.
Poultry imports in August were worth US$108.7 million, down 18.3 percent on the year and down 0.6 percent on the month.
