Lysine Sales Accounted For 17% of Vedan International's Total Sales Revenue for the First Half-Year of 2004

 

Vedan International (Holdings) Limited posted a net profit of US$15.677 million for the first half-year of 2004, a rise of 57.9% compared with the same period in 2003.

 

Revenue from sales of lysine products accounted for 17% of the company's total sales revenue for the first half-year of 2004.

 

Global lysine prices have been on a gradual decline since early this year. Prices of Vedan's lysine products for domestic sales in Vietnam dropped from US$3,200/ton in early this year to US$2,400/ton in June. Export prices were even lower, having fallen from US$2,500/ton to US$1,700/ton during the same period.
