Turkey and Zimbabwe join International Dairy Federation
Turkey and Zimbabwe have joined the International Dairy Federation (IDF), bringing IDF's global representation up to 58 countries and further increasing IDF presence.
President of the Turkish National Committee, Ali Ülker said they plan to play an integral role in the decision mechanism of IDF and ensure effective participation in committee studies.
Turkey is the 11th major milk producing country in the world and is the 10th among IDF members with its annual milk production of 12 billion litres.
R J Van Vuuren, Trustee for Zimbabwe Dairy Industry Trust, said they recognise the need for the support of the IDF as the country attempts to rebuild its dairy industry. Zimbabwe's dairy sector needs to be updated on the full spectrum of issues affecting the industry, and the information will be available through IDF, said Vuuren.
