Belarus has completed its 2009 grain harvest, which amounted to 9.009 million tonnes, down 3.7 percent on the year.

As of September 21, corn harvest fell 38.5 percent on-year to 7,500 tonnes, while average yield increased 27.9 percent on-year to 6.37 tonnes per hectare.

Legume harvest has reached 403,200 tonnes, with yield averaging 3.06 tonnes per hectare.

Also, buckwheat has been harvested from 76.5 percent of all planted areas, with harvest so far amounting to 18,800 tonnes. Buckwheat yield has fallen 21 percent to 1.28 tonnes per hectare.

Winter grain crops have been sown on 1.008 million hectares, up 12.1 percent on-year, or 71.5 percent of the total planted area.
