Tight threonine supply felt in China; higher prices for imports

An eFeedLink exclusive report

Threonine prices in China generally surged following a sharp tension in supplies in recent days. One major local producer facing significant tension in supplies recently, was almost unable to fully meet all of its contractual obligations. Consequently, the producer's supplies were unable to match demand, and its highest offer price has reached the level of RMB35/kg.

Meanwhile, supplies of imported threonine were also generally tense, as foreign producers have diverted more of their attention to other markets worldwide. Offer prices of imported threonine have reportedly exceeded RMB40/kg in recent days, with the highest reaching the level of RMB45/kg.
