Iran To Export 90% Of Shrimp Crop
More than 90% of domestic shrimp harvest will be exported this year, according to Arsalan Qasemi, the managing director of Iran's Aquaculture Cooperatives Union.
This year, more than 4,000 hectares of land have been allocated to shrimp breeding, and 8,000 tons of shrimps are expected to be produced.
He further noted that shrimp exports value would reach $35 million this year.
In the previous farming year, more than 6,500 tons of shrimp was produced in which only 10% of it was distributed in the local markets and the rest was exported.
