China may consume 20-million-tonne feed wheat in 2012
China's feed industry is expected to consume 15 million to 20 million tonnes of wheat in 2011-12 if corn prices remain high, a Canadian Wheat Board official based in Beijing said Tuesday (Sep 20).
"We see a lot of switching from corn to wheat in China," said Haiguang Shi, a vice president of the Canadian Wheat Board.
"Wheat prices are 15% below corn, so that's why a lot of feed mills are shifting to feed wheat," he added.
