South Korea's Jan-Aug corn imports down 29 percent
South Korea, the world's third-largest corn buyer, reduced corn imports by 29 percent in the first eight months of this year from a year earlier to 4.7 million tonnes, industry data showed on Friday (September 18).
Corn imports for feed production, which account for around 80 percent of the total, dropped 31 percent to 3.8 million tonnes, according to customs data.
Imports of food-grade corn also dropped 17 percent to 915,271 tonnes.
