Cherkizovo's September grain harvest figures up on-year

As of September 10, Cherkizovo Group had harvested approximately 117,000 tonnes of grain, an increase against the company's total harvest of 115,000 tonnes last year.
To date, Cherkizovo Group's agricultural enterprises have finished harvesting winter wheat, peas and barley. Harvesting of corn and sunflowers starts in September. The final harvest result will be released in November. The Group previously reported that it expected to harvest approximately 150,000 tonnes or 30% more than last year.
Cherkizovo Group's operational land bank is located mostly in Orel and Voronezh Regions. The Company's agro managers say that current yields are significantly higher than average for the regions. For example, yields in Voronezh Region are 5.3 tonnes/hectare for winter wheat and three tonnes/hectare for barley. Yields in Orel Region are 5.2 tonnes/hectare for winter wheat and 3.3 tonnes/hectare for barley.
Cherkizovo Group is the largest meat manufacturer in Russia and one of the top three companies serving Russia's poultry, pork and meat processing markets. The company is also Russia's largest producer of fodder. In 2012, Cherkizovo produced more than half a million tonnes of meat and processed meat products. In 2012, Cherkizovo's consolidated revenue exceeded US$1.5 billion, and net profit amounted to US$225 million.
