Australia's live exports show mixed results in July, with cattle shipments rising 67% on-year, while sheep and goat shipments decline 33% and 60%, respectively, over the same period.
Live cattle. exports reached 55,453 head in July, to bring total for January - July shipments to 389,946 head. Shipments to Indonesia for the month amounted to 25,399 head, while Egypt, Israel and Malaysia reached 15,300 head, 9,000 head and 5,449 head, respectively.
Live sheep exports fell to 155,801 head in July, to bring total exports since January to 1.43 million head. Turkey was the largest export destination for live sheep in July, at 58,000 head, while substantial shipments were also registered to Qatar (45,000 head), Bahrain (20,250 head) and Jordan (16,500 head).
Live goat exports during July decreased to 5,826 head, with all exports directed to Malaysia. From January - July 2012, total live goat exports reached 37,605 head, of which 94% were shipped to Malaysia.
