Modest rebound in China methionine prices
Prices moved higher during the week ended September 16.
The supplier of one major imported dl-methionine quoted in the range of RMB31.50-32/kg, while the price quotes of other imported brands were at RMB31.30-31.80/kg.
Feed consumption improved lately, lifting methionine demand. Suppliers took the opportunity to increase prices while production costs increased amid higher crude oil prices.
Methionine prices are seen firm with feed consumption increasing and buyers stockpiling inventories before the long October holidays.
