Kenya stops South African pork imports after swine fever outbreak

Kenya has stopped South African pork imports following the recent swine fever outbreaks in the country's Western and Eastern Cape regions, the government said.

The government has also called on Kenyan Association of Manufacturers (KAM) members to enforce the ban, by cancelling all import permits for pork products from South Africa issued before the ban, KAM said.

Namibia had also earlier banned South African pork imports following the outbreaks there.
