Russia may ban Polish meat

Russia may slap a ban on Polish meat imports if the products do not meet Russian standards, according to Russian media.

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control Service (Rosselkhoznadzor) is expected to hold new inspections on some Polish livestock enterprises at the end of September.

The Service may also conduct unscheduled inspections of Polish companies whose products are in demand in the Russian market.

On Poland's side, they had already submitted to Rosselkhoznadzor the complete information on its meat safety system, which will be implemented in some Polish meat processing plants.
