OSI announces new poultry facility and joint venture in China
OSI announces that its China unit has started construction of a new poultry processing facility in the country and signed a joint venture on a vertically integrated poultry operation.
On OSI's 20th anniversary of operating in China, the company said the joint venture in Zhoukou with Dayong will create DaOSI, OSI's third fully vertically integrated poultry operation in China.
"Today, we have a total of eight factories in China, and we are on the path to be one of the country's largest poultry producers," said OSI Chairman and CEO, Sheldon Lavin, in a news release. "To continue to capture the incredible opportunities in front of us, we are expanding our vertically integrated model here for poultry, in both primary and further processing."
OSI, a major protein supplier to McDonald's globally, has more than 50 operations across 17 countries, mainly in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
