Customs Union's poultry farmers may create a union
The Customs Union members and the Common Economic Space (CES) member states in the poultry industry have discussed in a meeting the creation of the Union of poultry farmers as part of the Customs Union.
The website of the Eurasian Economic Commission has reported that the meeting was attended by the Director of Agrarian Policy Department of CES Nadezhda Kotkovets with the General Director of the Russian Poultry Union Galina Bobyleva and her deputy Yelena Ivanova.
Referring to the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Interfax agency has reported that poultry farmers of the Customs Union are going to create their union. In 2011, poultry enterprises of Kazakhstan received KZT10.5 billion (US$70 million) as grants. Last year, the system introduced three new poultry farms. On the proposal of the Union of Poultry Farmers, the government has decided to allocate 200,000 tonnes of grain from the stabilisation fund for feed purposes and tackled the problem of the grain deficit for poultry farms.
