Ukraine cattle stock down 3% in August

The number of cattle in Ukraine on September 1 was 5.4 million, 3% less on-year, the state statistics committee reported Thursday (Sep 16).

The number of cows on the date was 2.75 million, 3.8% less than a year ago.

The number of pigs was 8.43 million, 12.3% more than 2009 levels. The number of sheep and goats increased 2.9% to 2.12 million.

The number of poultry was 233.53 million, 5.3% more than on last year.
