Ukraine exports 5.2 million tonnes of grain since July 1
Ukraine has exported 5.155 million tonnes of grain since July 1 of the 2009-10 marketing year, according to a statement by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the grain exports as of September 15 were estimated at 5.1552 million tonnes against 5.0974 million tonnes as of the same date of 2008.
According to the statement, Ukraine exported 2.1554 million tonnes of grain in August and 1.1317 million tonnes since the start of September.
This marketing year Ukraine has exported 2.6185 million tonnes of wheat, including 1.1248 million tonnes in August and 739,700 tonnes since the start of September; 442,000 tonnes of corn, including 116,100 tonnes in August and 47,100 tonnes since September 1.
According to the statement, 15.1532 million tonnes of grain has been supplied to certified grain storage facilities, including 8.1315 million tonnes of wheat, 4.6856 million of barley, 197,800 tonnes of rye, and 2.1383 million tonnes of other grain cultures.
It is also reported that Ukraine had exported 4.8 million tonnes of grain by September 9.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy estimates the 2009 grain harvest in Ukraine at about 45 million tonnes, and expects to export nearly 18 million tonnes of grain this marketing year.
Ukraine exported 24.7 million tonnes of grain in the 2008-09 marketing year.
